Changemakers

As with anything, the "getting started" is the hardest part. So when the idea of opening a brewery began to take shape and become more than just an idea, the demo work seemed a daunting task but Tom, Dustin and Tim were up for the challenge. From tearing down walls to scraping up tile to repetitive trips back and forth to dump demo scraps, there's times where it would have been easy for most people to take a long break and come back to it the next day. Not these guys. They're energized by their vision of offering the beer-loving community a spot to kick back and relax while enjoying a good brew after a long day. They are propelled forward by ideas for new ingredients and recipes. They keep going with thoughts of sharing their love of beer and wine with friends, family and the local community. But mostly, they're proud and excited to give the community a craft beer tap room and brewery offering, the first of its kind in Channahon. In fact, Channahon law makers created a special liquor license just for likes of River Hawk Brewing (find out more about this special allowance from the Herald-News article posted June, 2016: here). So it's not surprising that they would want to power through, even with tired hands and sore bodies. It's another example of their dedication and ambition of being innovators in the craft beer community.

Hats off to you, gentlemen. We can't wait to enjoy all your hard work!
